Gender Based Violence and Violence against Children- Akobo, Gummuruk, Pibor
Reconcile International conducted a Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Violence Against Children (VAC) awareness initiative across Akobo, Gummuruk, and Pibor, aimed at promoting protection, dignity, and safety within communities. The initiative brought together community members, leaders, women, and youth to engage in open discussions on the causes, impact, and prevention of GBV and VAC. Through interactive sessions, participants were equipped with knowledge on recognizing abuse, reporting mechanisms, and supporting survivors. Special emphasis was placed on changing harmful social norms, strengthening community responsibility, and promoting the rights and well-being of women and children. Participants were encouraged to take active roles in creating safer environments and advocating against all forms of violence. This effort reflects Reconcile International’s ongoing commitment to protecting vulnerable groups and fostering communities where respect, equality, and justice prevail.
